Scale Model World 2016

The IPMS crew really deserve a well done and pat on the back for the work they do in order to make Scale Model World the incredible show it is, every event I have attended has been well run and organised. This show also known as the IPMS Nationals is the premier show in the UK and must be well up there as regards shows around the world. Modellers from Europe are especially well represented at this event at the event, and there is also a large attendance from further afield.

This year I decided to show the photographs in the order I took them, and I also decided that in addition to the many great models on display I would also show some of the faces behind the names of the companies that service the wants and desires of modellers. I did make a point of talking to a number of companies who I had not seen before. One of these new faces to me is a new paint line coming out of Italy called ‘K Colors’, and I have been promised some samples for some of you to test drive.

The companies present have an excellent selection of products for you to purchase, and that is regardless of if you are looking for something to make, display on, assembly, paint or tools. There is one downside to the event if you are a local in the area as the roads are terrible with people waiting to get in on the Saturday; Sunday is not so bad and I am a little surprised the local police don’t step in on this aspect. Otherwise this event has everything going for it.

There are a very large number of clubs who have a stands at this event and it is impossible to take everything in or for that matter to see it all. If you manage not to spend all of your money with the huge number of vendors, there is a great second hand sales area. Here you can find some very rare models, or the kit you have spent a year or more looking for and it has to be said some fantastic bargains. So with this all said I can only add that you must try to attend this great event at least once.
