Halloween Modeling Table Cleanup Extravaganza

Is There a Work Bench Under there?

On 25 and 26 October 2003, a big unannounced cleanup rally was organized on Armorama. An invitation went out on Friday, and by the end of the weekend no less than 29 fine members of this website cleaned up their act.

  • For technical reasons, we couldn't publish the button on each contestant's personal page, but through this page they will henceforth be remembered as Clean People. The courage to get their desk cleaned, to throw away some very interesting shavings and cuttings that may have been the icing on the cake of a future diorama (you just never know) and in some cases even the termination of spiders and rats in the process, merit our admiration.

They are entitled to forever use this logo (in their signature line or tattooed on a body part of their own choice).

But to all of you, here's an even better reward. Each time your wife complains about the mess on your modeling table, the intoxicating smells of paint thinner, the trace of 1/35 nuts and bolts she keeps discovering in the carpet and the bulging waste bin, you can show her the following pictures. These are some fine examples of "normal" modeling desks and other scenes of crime that are destined to produce the finest samples of military modeling.

Keep this reference page ready at hand. One day, it may save your marriage.

    About Jan (GeneralFailure)
    FROM: EUROPEAN UNION

I live in Belgium, Europe. Though modeling was big on my list of hobbies, I spent all my time refurbishing the home we bought a few years ago. I promised I'd be back some day. That day can't be far off, now.

Thanks for the quick job, Scott. Nice work ! If anyone of you has submitted his intention to join this cleanup thing and has indeed cleaned up his mess without being mentioned in the Halloween Cleanup Hall of Fame, I want to apologize for that. He/she can send a PM to Scott Slodder If you treat him nicely, your name might still be added to the list. I'm not against the idea of repeating this. Especially at the eve of a starting new campaign, that's when most of us have their table reshuffled for a new job anyway. Still a few days left to subscribe to Market Garden, by the way !

General Failure is absolutely right - If you were left off I'll gladly add you on- just PM me and I'll get right on it!

Many thx guys!! :-) Just wanted to feel like part of the gang. But wait a minute..........does that mean I have to clean my desk again!?! Actually, believe it or not (not hard, right?), it already needs it. I cleaned my desk top off in preparation for my rather huge Twilight 2000 Campaign entry, the 'War Wagon'. The darn thing is eating up well over half a dozen kits already, so my desk top has quickly become a war zone again! So, I'll try to post a pic if I can figure it out. Again, thx. Tread.
