So I painted camo on a tank, and it's going to have a white wash because it's winter and the white was is going to be chipping away/wearing away.

I think I may have messed up as the chipping medium is pooling together instead of staying nice and spread where I'm applying it.

Here's my steps thus far...

1) Prime with Tamiya White

2) Vallejo Model air for base coat and then camo pattern

3) Future airbrushed for decal application

4) Decals applied

5) Future again, once dried overall washes and more specific washes

6) Tamiya Dull coat

7) I attempted now to apply the chipping medium and it's pooling together, not staying uniform on the surfaces in question.

I'm thinking it's due to the clear coat followed by dull coat. If so what's the best work around?

Would a clear coat with future going on help with this? I think that would make it pool even more?

Maybe another coat or 2 of dull coat?

Or as a last resort I can easily go over again with my airbrush the camo pattern so that way the chipping medium will be directly on the acrylic paint as this is how it's done in the directions, but that's a lot of coats, primer, paint, paint, paint, paint, paint, clear, clear, dull, paint, chipping medium, paint.

If it's pooling together you're using too much. The brush or sponge should be moist but not wet. Try repeated applications of less product.

This was precisely the issue, thanks a lot!
