Any thoughts on creating the sort of thick moss that is seen on roof tiles throughout Northern Europe? Needs to be done in 1/35 scale.

I have done it using flocking for HO scale shrubs and bushes. You have to tear off small bits and place them in the cracks and low points between the tiles.

I have used the fine scatter material you find used for grass on railway layouts. I've used white glue, either as individual 'blobs' or larger areas then sprinkle the scatter material on and let it dry before brushing off any excess.

Then paint as necessary.

One of the a/m companies (Lifecolour?) came out with a set a while ago with moss & lichen in it. That may work for you too
