In-Box Review
Bald Head Set 1

Warriors released a bald head set in 1/35th scale in March. The package is in the form of a plastic bag with a card stock top stapled to close the plastic. The kit contains six resin heads all of which are bald.

The heads seem to be well sculpted with each having a distinct look. Several have frowns and some with what seems like a grin. The others are sculpted with blank expressions. It is always difficult to get good facial expressions in this scale and Warriors have seem to pulled it off. The heads seem to be a good size in relation to common 1/35th scale figures such as DML.

This is where in my opinion the kit falls down. The casting pegs are in the middle of the top of the head. Most 1/35th scale head sets have the pegs coming out of the necks which would allow for a clean look. There were seam lines down the center of the head and in some cases a very thin line down the face. Each head had a slight bulge on the chin that had to be cleaned up and two had tiny sink holes that had to be filled.

Once the heads were cleaned up it was straightforward paint job. There is enough relief in the features to allow good highlights and shading.

Overall the headset is not bad and can be enhanced by adding hair and head dress. They do have an old man look that can add character to a 1/35th scale figure, for example an old German soldier at the end of WWII. These heads would work for any era and would be a good addition to the serious conversion types. But With the abundant selection nowadays from other Vendors such as Ultracast , Hornet , Wolf, etc this set does not quite stand up to them.
The sculpting seems to be done well but the casting requires more cleanup than expected and there are mold pegs attached on top of the head versus the bottom. However, once cleaned they paint up well. The heads look like older adults.
