AFV Club Tiger I with ATAK Zimmerit

  • move
Only his second build after taking up modelling, Stephan says the AFV Kit is a nice and fun build with the Zimmerit by Atak fitting perfectly without major problems. The Tracks from Rye Field are well detailed and bring some nice details to the model. While building the tracks takes some time and requires a bit of patience, itís worth the result. Some Dragon tools and other details were also added. For weathering he used the Dark Brown Wash by MIG for Pinwashing and to add some depth to the Zimmerit, followed up by some dry brushing. DAK Streaking Grime was applied afterwards to give the Tiger a used look. The final stages included a slight chipping and some dusting with Pigments.

Sehr Schon! I really liked the minimum weathering and the applied Zimmerit is first-class.

Wow Stephan! This is only your second build? This is excellent; what are you going to be like when you have a couple of hundred under your belt?

Hello and thank you! Happy to hear you like the Tiger. It's indeed my second built. As the most of you, I did some scale modeling as a teenager, which is ages ago and now I discovered the hobby again. Thanks to the sheer amount of tutorials on youtube and the broad range of weathering products, scalemodeling luckily has become beginners friendly. There are so many techniques to explore and the To Do List is growing weekly. Cheers, Stephan

Very nice, I like it! The weathering is rather subtle and not over the top... just the way I prefer myself. Well done! Mario

Wow! Stephan nailed it. The brown wash on the zimmerit and dry brushing work perfectly. The DAK wash ties it all together. Very subtle but very realistic. Great job. Take care, Don "Lakota"
