Hey, I'm also from the Island. Massapequa Park to be exact. Currently not part of any club but I plan on visit some in years to come. I'm only 17 so I have some time. Although, probably not as much as I might think I have.

I was 17 having a great life in Flanders, east of Riverhead, several lifetimes ago. Seemed it would last forever at the time. It isn't so much the limit on one's time so much as the imperceptible way time passes in the moment and the unbelievably rapid rate time becomes the past which accumulates in mountains behind you. Enjoy your youth for everything you can squeeze out of it!

Recently moved back to the Island on the south shore in western Suffolk County. No club affiliation, but I'd be curious to attend a meeting. Been getting most of my stuff online these days, and I'm in the process of rebuilding my mancave after the rains we had a couple of weeks ago collapsed parts of the ceiling.

If you want to join LISMS they meet at the American Airpower Museum every 4th Thursday of every month and every 3rd Monday of every month at the Levittown Public Library. Unfortunately I won't be able to go to any of the Monday meetings until near the end of December as I accidently scheduled some of my college classes at the exact time the meetings are.

Just doing some thread necromancy and saying I am from long island looking for a club or something. I am kind of experienced and looking to expanded my collection and talking with people abut building and techniques.

Also looking to get started in a historical wargame.

Well... Not to be an advertisement but there's the IPMS chapter up here, LISMS. And then LIARS for autos. Then there's another club but I forgot the name.

LISMS meets every 3rd Monday of the month at the Levittown Public Library in the basement. The club that I can't remember meets every 4th Thursday of the month at the American Airpower Museum at Farmingdale Republic airport. I'm not sure where LIARS meets. I don't attend their meetings. And actually the club that meets at the Airpower Museum is talking about moving to the new American Armor Museum, last I heard. Which was a few months ago as I haven't been able to attend due to work.

As a disclaimer: I DO attend both the LISMS meetings when I can and the club that meets at the Airpower Museum.
