Well, the contract has been signed for over 500 Boxer 8x8 vehicles for the British Army. Hopefully someone other than Revell will have a crack at kitting it.

Hi

Saw one in action in the arena at Bovington's Tankfest this year owned by the Dutch Army. Big old beast...that goes fast.

Anyone opening a sweepstakes on exactly how long they are in service before cheeky crews start sticking BMW and Mercedes badges on the front?

(Gotta clear a space on the drive for mine - it'll really improve the daily commute...)

Brilliant - after the British Army withdrew from the programme back in 2003 complaining the proposed vehicle was too big and too heavy, despite it becoming too heavy due to British demands and modifications.

According to The Times newspaper yesterday the contract is worth at least £1.5 billion and was meant to be signed last week, however a delay of 6 months is now mooted not least due to what's going on politically in the UK at the moment. Up to 60% of the each vehicle may be made on home soil (ie UK) and will be delivered in 2023.

Cynic that I am, I actually wonder if we'll ever get it.

Blast Models could make a mission module roof as stop gap measure.
