M1A1 HC “All Bout Da Bones”,

64th Armor Regiment - 3rd Infantry Division
Thunder Run to Baghdad, April 7, 2003.

Dragon 1:35 M1 AIM with Alpine OIF Tank Crew and a Legend stowage set. The model was Painted with AK Real Colors.

This is my latest project, and the longest going project I've ever done but the result makes all that hard work worth it for me. I hope you like it!

Very nice rendition. What kit did you use?

Thanks.

Very nice. I like the weathering. A couple of minor points on this particular vehicle:
The two bands on the bore evacuator should be a little narrower. The correct color is blue. Black was for command tanks. Photos sometimes seem to show black, but this tank was really blue.
The other minor point is the camo net pack on the left side. It should merely be painted green.

If you feel like adding an additional detail for this tank, you may want to add the string of chicken bones that hung from the front of the main gun barrel.

It's nice to see a well done 1-64 AR tank.

Robert- is that one of your photos that Don Haney showed of the chicken bones hanging off the bore? Very nice work Jasper!

Thank you very much sir.

The bands are indeed an inaccuracy. The blue I used turned out way too dark but looked fine to me at the time. It was only later (too late) that I found out that the bands were indeed much lighter in colour. The camo pack is also a moment of artistic freedom and I have no clue where I got it from, but I really like the looks of it so that is to stay, sorry! I was planning on those chicken bones but I decided not to go for it as I didn't have the skull to go with it. Having only one of the two attributes seemed weird to me.

Thank you very much for your feedback and kind works.

Kind regards,

Jasper

Yes, that is the good pic that shows what I am talking about. it also shows the skull they put on the mantlet.

Nice job on the M1A1, Like the detail and paint. nailed it on the paint and stowage from what I have seen on the web, they were coming out when I was in Germany back in 1982, we built range stuff for them as so fast, they were tearing up them old Cold War roads in Graf. Plus those old targets could not push these machines to their ultimate test , fast on the fire as compared to the Older M60 series .Big beasts they are.
