Who's all in for a new Build a tool campaign??? I'm getting ready to make a few jigs for my Sherline milling machine and realized we hadn't had a BAT campaign in a while.

Would love to have another one Matt. I have a few ideas so I am all for it.
Thanks,
Randy

These build-a-tool campaigns seem to build support slowly. Personally, I have several tools I’d like to build or modify. Maybe we need to discuss some of the items we’re contemplating to stir interest.

Here's one of my ideas....
I have the precision cast plate to make it, but will do something slightly different to center it on the table.

I intend to make a smaller version of this tool to fit my smaller drill press.

Paul,
Is that a hold-down tool for the drill press, or a disc-punching die for use on the drill press?

Mark,
It’s a hold down tool for drill press. I have more pics I can post later of the larger version I made for working on my hand loading stuff and hobby machine work. It holds round stock for drilling on it’s other side.
I’m looking at doing one half the size for use on the precision drill press.

Mark,
Here are two more views of the larger version of the hold down tool. It’s also useful for some PE bending but that’s only a rarity since I have other commercial PE bending tools.

Would rebuild of my airbrush compressor count?
Don't know if a compressor can be considered a tool ....
I am swapping out the old, rusted through, tank and replacing it with two ex fire extinguishers. The "plumbing" needs to be rearranged due to new layout.
The only other tools I usually make are the cones I use when spin painting the "rubber" on tank road wheels ...

Can I submit something I've made since the last BAT campaign?

Sure. I've done a paint shaker attachment for my jig saw since then too.

Based on that the paint shaker build, I would think that Robin’s compressor tank rework would be acceptable too, correct?

What irony--my entry is going to be a paint shaker i made from scraps and spare hardware.

I’m hoping there will be a little more interest than just a us few... The last build a tool campaign suggestion didn’t go off due to lack of participation.

Seems like there is always just a select few of us that take past in the tool campaigns. Oh well, I guess the rest don't know what they are missing. Not sure what I will build yet. I have a list of ideas, nothing as fancy as the rest of you, but still.....
Thanks,
Randy
