Due to happenings well beyond our control, the Atlanta Club has been forced to move the location of the 2018 Annual AMFS/AMPS Show. The 2018 event WILL NOT BE HELD at the Atlanta Marriott/Century Center/ Emory Center in Decatur

We greatly regret that this has become necessary, but for 2018 our Show will take place at the

Hilton Atlanta/Marietta Hotel and Conference Center
500 Powder Springs Street
Marietta, GA

It is our hope that the only major effect this change will have on our attendees will be to travel arrangements and possibly to previously established dining and shopping "rituals". Obviously, the "look" of the Show will be different and not the "usual" and we ask for forbearance in this regard. In spite of all this, the tenor of the Show will be the same as always... FUN, FIGURES, and FRIENDS.

The cut-off date for room reservations, to take advantage of the special room rate, has been extended until midnight January 31, 2018. Any reservations after this time will be at the Center's usual rate which is considerably higher than the $99 special show rate.

Again, read carefully! If you have already made reservations, you are good to go with no further action necessary on your part. If you have not made reservations yet, you will need to make them through the old hotel, the Marriott, as noted on our website and Facebook Page and previous literature. The Marriott will handle, and is handling all reservations through the deadline (1/31/18). After the cut-off deadline passes, all of the reservations will be delivered into the Hilton System where you may claim your room(s) on arrival.

We will be forwarding more information as it is developed. The AMFS folks are looking forward to seeing you all in February.

First of all, to reinforce our earlier post. The 2018 AMFS/AMPS Show WILL NOT be held in the Atlanta Marriott/Century City, Decatur.

The site for the 2018 Annual Show is the beautiful ATLANTA/MARIETTA CONFERENCE CENTER and HILTON HOTEL in Marietta, GA.

After a quick survey of the area of the new location, we are very happy to announce that we are very pleased and excited about this new site. The Conference Center is located at 500 Powder Springs Street, very near to the historic Marietta Square, home to many fine restaurants and shops. Additionally, we are less than three miles from Highway 41, once the major highway through this part of Georgia and crammed with many shopping and dining choices. Cumberland Mall lies only a short trip to the south and Town Center Mall and several surrounding shopping centers awaits 8 miles to the north. If you should arrive early, a mild day (or a cold one, if you are either tough or dedicated), would give you an opportunity to visit historic Kennesaw Mountain and its various historical sites. A few miles further north, in the small town of Kennesaw, visit the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History, the home of "The General”, the objective of "The Great Locomotive Chase". Wildman's, the biggest little War House in Kennesaw" is located in the middle of town and is a possible stopping point as well.(Be forewarned about this one though, the owner, Dent Myers, is probably the closest thing to an "un-Reconstructed Rebel" as I have ever met. Leave your sensitivity, political correctness etc.... at the door. This could be a memorable visit or maybe one you should avoid :-) If you have doubts, a quick check of their Facebook page could help in deciding. Wildman's Civil War Surplus.

If the weather permits and golf is your game there is an excellent golf course right in the “back yard” of the Conference Center. If this interests you the Conference Center website has the information you need.
