Hello,
I wanted to share my latest review for the Michtoy's store blog, the Gator Glue.
It's a acrylic glue formulated for phot etched. I had no idea such product existed, and I loved it !
The clean job we get with this glue is just amazing. A sidearm for our bench. I know we all had PE problems sometime in our lives, so this comes as a great product.

I got two bottles of that stuff when it first came out, and could not get the PE to stick worth a darn.

Jeff,
This is not as fast as CA, for sure. It takes time to achieve full adhesion. But after dry I could hang metal tweezers on the glued parts, no problem. If you check my whole review, you can see some torture tests after dry.
They worked perfectly for me.
Best
Julian

Thanks for the in-depth review Julian. The bottle I have is about several years old, and I'd say it still works its wonders. I may have to try that thin blend one of these days. Cheers, Tat

I tried the regular stuff. I put a dab between a large piece of brass and a very fine one. Let it dry for four hours, with no joy. It was like trying to use water for glue. The Gator Glue was only a few months old.

The PE needs to be sanded to have surface for adhesion. It won’t work in a smooth PE surface. That goes for CA glues also.

Maybe so, but some are so small that no way to sand stuff, and I have glued with regular superglue, and not a problem at all on some parts, maybe you all getting the good stuff. LOL kidding, I might try it one more time, but not going to wait 4 hours for it to set up neither,as the purpose is quick set,I think back to Zap.
On the small stuff, try to glue a working German clasp closed ,sanding it out of the question.
Maybe your high Humidity in both of your countries is the deal.
Cheers
Jeff

Jeff, sand the whole fret of PE before using it.
Grab a good fine sanding pad or sponge and do over the whole fret as one piece.

I used ca glue, when the Gator Glue didn't work. Instant adhesion and durability. BTW, it was a German clasp that I used as my test piece. I'm just not seeing the benefit of having to rough up the etch, before being able to glue it together over ca glue.
