I was so hoping a Sherman basher wouldn't post but one just had to. On most German tanks especially the Tigers the differences amount to moving a shovel or a latch whereas on Sherman's it's whole different turrets and engine decks and suspensions. You're only showing ignorance of a subject by such outright derision.

And that's my half penny of opinion. Not even worth a full sense. (spelling intentional)

I relatively new to the whole allure of German armor but the sheer variety of the Sherman series never ceases to amaze me as opposed to the minute differences between production variants on German armor. Like a Thursday rather than Tuesday-- But I'm finding room in my stash for many of them.

But I still like it all.

Ha ha! I am not sure switching to steel wheels and getting different cupolas would be considered minor - it would be like saying a DV Sherman was a small change! I have recently gotten into allied armour thanks to state of the art kits coming out. Actually what we do need though is some British trucks other than the usual suspects - a Bedford OXD or OY 4x2 would be nice, or an Albion 10t GS or Thornycraft Amazon/Coles crane truck!!

And here I was slowly churning through my accumulated Tiger stash, oblivious to minor defects and simply enjoying the thrill of the build...can't see what Trumpy brings to the show that Tiger hasn't flogged to death already, though I am very interested in hearing what David D has to say. His site is very illuminating at correcting -or considering correcting- the errors and omissions on these kits. Works for me.

I meant to say "Dragon" where I mentioned incorrectly "Tiger hasn't flogged to death..."

What research have they done? Are these cribbed from someone else's Tigers? Many unanswered questions here.

David Byrden is helping them out on Facebook at this very moment...

No, he says he's not helping them.

David Byrden is not helping Trumpeter with their new Tiger kits.

David has assisted Dragon in making their kits more accurate and someone thought he was helping Trumpeter as well.

On a seperate note, it's certainly interesting how no "panzer nuts" have commented on the new Tamiya Sherman post, complaining it's not a Bergepanther or DAK Panzer III, etc. Perhaps our Sherman modellers could take a page out of our ettiquette notebook....

with David Byrden aboard we should have a pretty accurate kit

Oh, I'm not "aboard" at all.
I made a couple of comments in Facebook that may be helpful, but that's a very long way from being "aboard".

You might want to consider that these remarks are forum specific memes and not to be taken seriously, just as a tiresome joke.

Not a breach of etiquette but just a gag that someone is obliged to make.

Like the Bergepanther remark among others. Now where is my new F9F panther and F11F Tiger.
