Hai folks,

Planning my 1/48 B-52 project I am thinking about making the wings removable to facilitate moving the model from one place to the next (perhaps to an model show or something like that).

My question to all of you is: How can I best do this?

HAs anyone ver done something like that on one or another huge model?

Drabslab-- I'd suggest using brass rod and tube through the fuselage to make detachable wings. I've done it for a large Seaplane model I built for a customer several years ago. You can fill the fuselage with plaster or high density insulation foam (I like using this the best, since it keeps the weight down and adds strength) to hold two brass tubes in place in the fuselage, then use corresponding tubes in the wings-- then you can run a brass rod through the tubes to join.
