Just took a look - so many choices in 1/33. Why 1/33?? Is this supposed to be a compromise between 54mm/1/32 and 1/35?

According to the list of scales over at Wikipedia 1/33 Is a scale for paper model airplanes like paper on wood which would include a lot of World War One types?

54mm is usually 1/32 or even 1/30 depending on the figure (top of head or eye level) so this is getting even more confusing.

Maybe 1/33 Is for Verlinden 1/35 scale giants.

Funny it's made in 1/33 which is a paper airplane model scale but not 1/32 for figures for plastic airplane models let alone 1/35 for armor models.

Scalelink.co.uk makes a complete line of World War One heads including covered and bare pickelhaube in 1/32. Their heads tend to run small so work well for 1/35 figures and being white metal the helmets can be cut off and no one would know the difference. Only being boiled leather or even cardboard the real things did vary in size.

Any other ideas?

Hi I'm looking for WW1 piked helmets (1914) on 1/35 scale. Any hints or maybe self casted?
