I am starting with the idea of a spanish Lince diorama, probably in afghanistan.

I want it to be a figure intensive dio. I am waiting for this set:

And a couple of MAIM figures that I had ordered from FOG models but never received so I had to go to a local source to order them at a bit higher price. But who's complaining?!!!
I will do 3 spanish soldiers for which I am using 2 Djiti's productions and one Royal model. the figures are Italian modern soldiers that will be slightly modified, since I couldn't find any decent spanish figures out there.

I also will use Djitiīs middle eastern children set that I already have and some older verlinden figures that I have in my stash.
I am thinking of a market scene.

I have started with the heads of the soldiers and the little boy:

With out eyes:

with eyes:

Eyes are the hardest part for me!
I must say that for the idea of the diorama I was influenced by a diorama by Santiago TreviŮo (Spanish UNIFIL Iveco "Lince" in Lebanon) but I want the setting to be more of a market place with many things happening at the same time. I know it is a challenge, but here we go!

The spanish army in afghanistan used their basic desert uniform plus a mix and match mixture of equipment with different cammo patterns. Here I am working on their "chocolate chip" camo vests:

for the back pack I went with woodland cammo. here working on it:

Also got some Riich farm animals. I am thinking of using the sheep. Tha ram is not very well molded and the horns are molded to the body, so I had to do some surgery:

All primed and ready for paint:

What great work! Another figure master sharing! And what a great idea about the sticks. What are you using for the base where you place the sticks? I use florist foam myself but your idea allows you to rotate the figures!

Great stuff!

Thank you guys. And Patrick about the figure master I am not so sure. But I learn something every day, and practice, practice, practice. For the base of the sprue sticks I use wax in a small container. Specifically wax that comes in the wrapping of cheese belive it or not:

Very useful to hold small parts also.

I appreciate your advice on how to paint faces. I have a few in my stash that I'm going to practice on. If I can get a quarter as nice as these I'll be ecstatic.
I think I'm also going to order the family kit as well.

Thanks again.

Sorry Kuba, I had already started painting when I saw your message. These are the 5 figures from MAIM: Two old men and three children. As you can see I have already started with the old men and one of the kids. The detail is not amazing, but they are good figures:

No problem. With the paint on them the details are even more visible

This old man at the right has a little hole in his nose. There are some holes in his hands too.
