I've got the base coat (white) on the Tunguska hull. The tracks are assembled and primed. I'm about to start masking the areas of the hull that will get hit with gray over the weekend.

Hi Guys, calling my KV-1 complete. I tried some different material and techniques for mud effects since #%^#*^ tracks were a pain in the #%% and broke

That's the great advantage we have over airplanes and ships!

Congratulations on another fine build.

Hi all!
Going to try and actually complete a campaign ...once and for all! I'll be enlisting with my unfinished 1/35 Tamiya Opel Blitz, pictured below as it appeared at the completion of the recent Poland 1939 Campaign ...of course - unfinished!

Ladies and gentlemen, I give to you the final images of the Heller Amiot 143, done (as far as I'm concerned). This was a challenge to me and I'm glad to have finished it. I wish I could have gotten a few better shots but my phone is my only camera.

I have decided to change the kit with which i'll participate in this campaign. I'll store the Centauro for a while longer
Instead i pulled out a kit by MAC Distribution: the Soviet Truck BA-20SD Railcar. It's a limited edition apparently. It's also the only kit bij MAC i have seen so far... A review of the kit can be found right here on Armorama.

The box, ca. 2012:

The contents, sprues bagged seperately:

Which makes it strange to find cobwebs inside the plastic bags:

I found the white power on my kit as well, which i assume is some mold release residue. Or perhaps just mold

The BA-20SD was started in 2012. I put off gluing the hull together at the time. The main reason was that dry-fitting the panels indicated a bit of trimming and filler would be required

About 2 weeks ago i pulled out the kit again. This is how it looked then:

I just started gluing the hull together and at the end of the day this is what i ended up with. After trimming and sanding to get the best possible fit, a few gaps remained here and there

Filling the gaps didn't solve all problems, so i added a bit of Evergreen strip to cover up the remaining gap.

A larger problem turned out to be the axles. The problem with them is that they were too wide. The wheels fit into the arches well enough, so it's not a problem with a road-car. But a rail-car means it has to fit on some railway tracks. I tried Tumpeter, Dragon and some others i have lying around. None fit. So i ended up cutting the axles to fit the tracks and... well, this is how it looks today:

Next up is applying some paint

I suspect the rails you have are the German gauge, the Russians used a wider one

That could of course be it. Never considered that for some reason. Still, making the axles smaller beats making the rails wider so it's all good in this case. And saves me from buying Russian gauge railways which i'll probably never use anymore.
Still, i'll try to keep the rivet counters and railway measurers away from my model

Richard - just checked this thread for the first time in a while. The Opel Blitz interior cab is FANTASTIC! Really floored me when I saw it. Gives me an all new high water mark to shoot for in my truck modeling!

Great to see there are still a lot of great builds going on, like:

"69mudbone" - excellent mud effects on a very nicely done KV

"MLD" - clean looking build and great paint work for the ZBD90

"Pave-Hawk" - excellent progress on the Chevy

"Supplyssg" - quality job on the details for the Opel Blitz

"Zhivago" - outstanding job and those 'hidden' details we saw in earlier posts are really well done. The Amiot 143 is an interesting subject

"goofmuilwijk" - a lot of quality work going into the Soviet Truck/Railcar that will pay off soon

Managed to finish up my Tamiya King Tiger (Porsche) and find a base to display it. I'm calling my "Unfinished 2017" complete, and I'll focus on new builds for the "Big Cats V" and a couple other Campaigns coming up. Great builds everyone and I'll definitely be checking back to see progress and other 'finished' projects. Thanks again Gary.

Hello there, its about time I posted my starting picture for this campaign. I love the Paper Panzer/Panzer 46 genre (or whatever you want to call it) and so a while back I devised a way to make the Amusing Hobby VK 30.02 into a late production version of the fictional Sd.Kfz. 172 Cheetah. The premise was that the VK 30.02 entered service alongside the Panther and was eventually outfitted with the schmalturm.

I got all the way to the painting phase before I bothered to google the VK 30.02 and discovered that the schmalturm was already conceived in the World Of Tanks game. The project lost steam after that and its sat on my shelf for a while now collecting dust as I finished up projects for other campaigns. Now is the time to finish it up and put it on display. Comments or feedback welcome.

Hi all,
Two of many kits were not finished for about 3 years. Trumpeter's T-64A and HB's Leopard 2A6EX. I'll try to make them this year.

K.

K,
Hey! I recognize that ZSD in the background! -grin-
That is great looking cammo and finish on the hull and turret.
If you don't mind me asking, how did you get so far finished with one part of the build and not the other?
I am not 'throwing stones', I've got a LOT of part built kits, I am just wondering how they got to this point.

So I have the Coelian at the point of hitting it with paint

and as there's nearly 2 months to go I've hauled out another flak panzer in need of completion

Over the years I've lost the box and the exhaust stacks - spares box to the rescue!
