Michael, it looks great with one exception: the Sd.Kfz.9 riders. As I feared, they simply aren't up to the level of detail in your other figures. I'm sorry to be negative, but the outstanding effort all around in the vehicles and the other figures makes me want to be honest with you and not sugar-coat things. My apologies if I have spoken out of turn.

Honestly I'd disagree, they look great to my eye.

Ha Ha Bill, Thanks for not sugar coating things

Had all intentions of building the Famo out of the box with the crew excluding any head changes. Would love to have used resin figures and as we have discussed in the other thread the Dml riders look great but I felt to use the existing crew is in acknowledgment to the manufacturer with releasing an excellent plastic vehicle and crew. The mold date on the chassis is 1999 and for a kit and figures released some 17 years ago, with a little work they scrub up well to fill the cab.

Back with a small update, in 2 minds to mount Famo on freestanding board or diorama base.
Had an urge to work on a Miniart building and found this baby a challenge.
Been working on the house for the last few weeks and the Famo has been on the back burner till I work out the
diorama layout. Something like 17 years since my last large diorama and have started with the base and building first. The famo may work but if not I will work on both at the 1 time and will see how it goes.
Collated a few items for the base and dumped into a box to keep altogether. It's early days at present more items need to be ordered.

That looks great! Your buildings, like you vehicles, are fantastic! Although I don't think a stove such as that--looks like a wood stove--would have been on an upper floor.

I have been following along but haven't commented lately and I have to say a lot is happening here ! For one thing, this turned out to be a huge dio!
You have picked a lot of good stuff to go in here and it is really coming together nicely now.

Thanks Jerry

Not sure if the famo and trailer are going to fit on this dio for the concept I have in mind.
It's been 20 years since building a large dio and at the moment this has taken all my attention because it's different.

The challenge of this diorama is to tell a story in each area and hopefully tell the 1 big story

Hello,

Wow, finally finished the Riich Models German Field Kitchen. The field kitchen is no easy feat to put together. The parts are very fine and for a field kitchen it was a complex build.
The figures have been positioned around the field kitchen for trial purpose to see if it will work to create the diorama scene.

A combination of Tamiya and Riich field kitchens and figures have been used to create the scene. The plastic figures from both manufacturers have excelled in figure detail.

The scenario is to try and make 2 separate diorama's come together on the 1 diorama base. The intention for the viewer to be captivated with a view on each side of the diorama base.
The brick wall is the separator between the 2 diorama ideas.
The figures without heads will be changed out with resin replacements.

The shed doors on the front have been painted in Humbrol blue and highlights have been made with Mig Ammo wood and dark wash.

I appreciate your words.

I am currently waiting for a transport box to be built with the famo timber base at the builder's.There is only a small amount of work to be done to the Famo and remains on the backburner.

The diorama has now all my devotion and enthusiasm.

After some deliberation on what will be used on the diorama the decision has been made for the items below. Some may be omitted and there may be substitutes to present the right appearance.

The diorama will be a balancing act as to what looks too busy and what looks right.

There is way too much now to have this in the Famo blog and now it will have to be separated into it's own blog.

Nice! Thnaks for posting. My bench is home made and much bigger but I have learned it doesn't matter how big the work space is. When I start working it is soon restricted to about 10 square inches of work space surrounded by chaos!

Hi Ian,

I 'll try and keep this short but it won't be.One web page server had held my images for ransom wanting $400 a year to display my images. Which I cannot afford to pay.
By doing this they put a stop on all the images in this thread.

By doing that I downloaded all my images from the place I had them and relocated them to another server.

By going to another server I have to reload all my images back into each post. Not a quick thing to fix

This build blog is on 3 web pages.
Planet Armour, Armorama and Modellers alliance.
Soooo I have to redo 3 build blogs with the images.
Once I complete 1 it will be simple to cut and paste the others. I hope
Have commenced image replacement here.
http://planetarmor.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9007
When this is done it will be a timely cut and paste thing.

It sucks because there is around 240 images to insert.
I commenced the build in 2013

Michael
