One of my favorites, that I cannot count how many times I've read, is Fly for Your Life. About Bob Tuck's life and experiences during the Battle of Britain.



I agree, I also like Reach for the Sky, about Douglas Bader. I remember seeing that book in my school library for years thinking it was a western. Bader might have been a bit of an S.O.B. but he was a hero in my book.

BTW, these are the Ballantine books I was talking about, though they are great. The ones I meant are the Ballantine Illustrated History series.

i like steve ambrose books and ofcourse d-day and a bridge too far written bij cornelius ryan (the movies are good as well)
