The last few months have seen a rapid release program from DML in all areas. One of the most noteworthy, has ubdoubtedly been th introduction of a different 'dimension' of 1/35th scale figures - Generation II. The difference between these and any other figures on the market is abysmal - the new figure sets are undoubtedly the best ever produced in 1/35th. Now, Dragon Models has, via its subsidiary DragonUSA announced the latest set....
Following on from the news of the 1/35th scale Chinook from Trumpeter, once again, the attention turns to this scale with a British Horsa Glider in 1/35th scale.....
I make no apologies for this news story - i've always been a huge fan of emergency vehicles of all types. This has been on Trumpeter's front-page for a number of weeks and now we can bring you the images of a very attractive new release....
Perhaps somewhat overshadowed by their other releases, Trumpeter, nevertheless are continuing with increasing their range of carriers and naval aviation sets...
The question was wherher to put this in Aviation or Armor.... This will be one of those models which should encourage Armor modellers to 'cross-over' into aviation, and the Aviation builders to change theme and scale....
The increasingly interesting range of products from LionMarc are something which really should be getting a higher profile. In this report, we're going to look at some recent releases, in both 'clickable' (working) tracks and 1/35th scale barrels....
Once again, a considerable number of new releases from Eduard including two new full-kits in 1/48th and 1/72nd scale...

White Ensign Models has just announced a re-issue of WEM K3551, USS PEGASUS (PHM-1), USN hydrofoil in her 1980 fit....

Polish WW2 aircraft models are not that common. To My knowledge, an injected kit of the PZL P.23 "Karas" was only available in 1/72 scale by Heller so far. Now the waiting is over for the 1/48 crowd as Mirage Hobby, specialists in Polish airplanes, have just released what seems to be a promising kit!
Hasegawa Models have recently announced their releases for January 2006, all of which are flagged as "Limited Edition".
Verlinden Productions have recently announced their February 2006 releases. Last month I commented on the growing number of 1:48 scale releases from Verlinden (which is not necessarily a bad thing), this month the 1:48 scale new releases actually outnumber the 1:35 scale releases!
This is my first post to this particular forum so please excuse any errors in layout etc.

The following have been released and confirmed.
Just announced (or at least with images) is the latest in Dragon Models' Modern Sea Power Series...
I came across Leonhard Miniatures a few days ago, and was impressed by their dedication to historical detail. In fact, Leonhard Miniatures are so dedicated to historical accuracy, that their figures are carefully designed by a team member who is a professional museologist with experience in researching and reconstructing historic subjects. Furthermore, the masters are sculpted by talented and renowned artists like Alan Ball!
Spanish manufacturer El Viejo Dragón Miniatures recently released another two interesting figures to add to their very diverse range of military miniatures. This time, two Roman Empire subjects - a Roman and a Celtic barbarian...
Wings n Treads has recently done a lot of work updating and upgrading the web site....
This month sees a smaller than usual list of new releases from Andrea Miniatures. Once again the 'Historical' figures are taking a slight back-seat to some releases which many might find unusual...
Verlinden Productions have recently announced their January 2006 releases. Once again it is a compact mixed bag for both 1:48 and 1:35 scale modellers. I find it interesting to note the growing number of 1:48 scale releases, and must compliment VP on their capitalization of another well-known manufacturer's decision to break into the 1:48 scale market.
Osprey Publishing's January 2006 releases leaves me feeling a bit like a time-traveller, as their latest releases take us from Bronze Age Mesopotamia, to Classical period Ancient Greece, to the 1st Century AD Roman Emprire, to 16th Century Russia, and ending in the WW2 Pacific theatre with the Doolittle Raid and US Submarines.
During my cyber-travels I came across a new Korean miniatures company, Infinity Shape. Infinity Shape's historical and military miniatures range currently comprises of 1/48 (37mm) and 54mm white metal figures. They are launching their 1/35 range in January 2006 (the figures can be seen below), and from their website it appears they will be launching a range of 90mm figures within the foreseeable future as well.
It has been almost 6 months since Russian manufacturer Tank announced any new releases. This month they spoil Allied, Axis and Modern modellers alike with no less than seven new figure sets.
News just in from Mr. Alex Surzhenko, Director of Master Box Limited, of two new 1/35 scale kit releases to hit the kit market, one very soon, one in about a month's time (if all goes well with the process, he says.)
As the modelling year comes to an end, and as I rarely get a chance to 'editorialize' (at least to any great extent), this seems like quite a good opportunity to be even more opinionated than I usually am (ahem...)

In this, I'm going to be taking a (highly) personal view of what (to me at least) have been the highs (and lows) of this year's new releases....
Established in 1996, Italian company Model Victoria specialize in Italian 1/35th scale military and historical replicas - particularly the largely ignored subject of Italian WWII armed forces!

As a special Christmas bonus, Armorama and Dragon Models Limited are announcing their first joint Armor competition....
The most common drawback with some of the (otherwise) excellent plastic figure sets on the market, is there is a tendency towards 'sameness' . Therefore, it is desireable, to find some alternative. There are a number of companies who have made themselves 'indispensable' in this area, now, the South Korean company, Legend Productions has entered this useful sector of the market....
The Shanghai-based AM company, LionRoar has three new update sets available now, two in 1/35th scale and one in 1/48th scale...
In what seems to be a continuing process from DML, yet another Flak artillery piece has been announced. The subject this time is the 2cm Flak 38, which is going to be given the Full treatment. (PE, different variants etc)....
Sadly, for many modellers, 1/72nd scale still seems to require a lot of convincing. Here with the latest (and future) releases of 1/72nd scale armor from Dragon Models are a number of VERY convincing arguments....
