With the new releases from Trumpeter of 4 AFVs of the KV series (and more planned) inevitably, one's thoughts turn to AM 'embellishments' for tis most interesting of vehicles. These two new 1/35th decal sheets, should help keep the new KVs out of the stash and onto the workbench...

It seems that 99% of the stories published on this site, covering future Dragon releases, are related to 1/35th scale. Therefore, it is a positive feeling when their 1/72nd scale releases can be covered in an equally serious manner.
It is a moot point as to whether any conflict in history has been as well-documented as Operation Iraqi Freedom. Many books continue to be published covering all aspects of the war and interest in modelling vehicles of the conflict continues to grow apace. With this new book, it is unlikely if the intention of Concord was to break new ground, but it was clearly their intention to publish a book of direct use to modellers....

I came across the following exciting future releases from Resicast while browsing the Perth Military Modelling Site. Now admittedly I am normally hesitant to publish news until it is confirmed on the manufacturer's website - but this news is just too exciting to keep to myself, and we all know what a reliable source Terry Ashley (PMMS) is!!
Scale Magic is an Australian company formed by 3 modellers which specialises in 1/48 scale resin replacement parts and conversion sets. Two of the names behind Scale Magic will certainly be well-known on Armorama: Rob Storey (29Foxtrot) is a long-time regular contributor to the Aircraft Forum, while newcomer Glen Hambleton (TBM) built the Avenger pictured here incorporating Scale Magic flaps and wheels. The third member of the team is Wayne Hines.

Six new figures will also be released shortly to complete the series....
Dragon Models previously had an excellent reputation for aircraft kits in both 1/72nd and 1/48th scales. It has (unsurprisingly) been a while since they had a new release in the aviation field. Now it seems the Aviation Wing (o.k. I couldn't resist it!) of DML is back in business with a new release...

Although the American "Wild West" has never been of an historical interest to me, it's what the West inspires that has always appealed to me. It's the idea of new frontiers, a hostile land, high adventure...
I like Carriers. I particularly like carrier models that do not involve me having to evict the neighbours and demolish the connecting walls. In this respect, Dragon Model's future release is particularly attractive...
Heroic Miniatures, first introduced to Armorama readers in June 2005, have recently announced their latest releases and issued a few "in progress" photographs - including a bust! One of the more interesting of the plethora of new companies in recent years, has been Echelon Fine Details. The company has gained an enviable reputation for itself in the production of some truly intriguing 1/35th decal sheets with a strong (although not exclusive) list of 1/35th sheets for modern vehicle subjects. This trend continues with three out of the four new releases this month...
This specialist range of resin/pewter model kits are arguably amongst the finest figurine/busts available and was awarded the Modell Des Jahres 2000.
The key to a succesful book on modelling is primarily accessibility. Far too many books are 'pitched' at 'expert/master' level, to be of much use to the 'average' modeller. One of the real success stories in recent years has been an initiative by Osprey Publishing of a series which has received much attention in the modelling world - The Osprey Modelling Series. The coming months will see a significant expansion of these useful books...
