New 1/350th Bismarck upgrade set from Lion Roar

Wednesday, July 15, 2009 - 01:57 PM UTC

By SEAN FORD

Building on their ever growing range of 1/350 upgrade sets Lion Roar has announced the impending release of their 1/350 Bismarck upgrade set.

This is super detail set containing amongst other things photo-etched parts, accurate lathe metal barrels, and a commemorative coin. The coin is a limited production item of only 5000 copies and its moulds have already been destroyed. Therefore the Bismarck detail set including the commemorative coin will also only be available in limited quantity. After that, future Bismarck detail set packages will not include the coin.

This set is designed to upgrade the Revell's 1/350th Bismarck however Lion Roar have stated that it would also suit 95% of the Tamiya kit, but the Revell kitset is recommended by Lion Roar to get the very best out of the upgrade set.

Kindly note that Lion Roar have advised and acknowledged that the laser cut deck as shown in the images is too thick and they are awaiting on thinner material to test it again. Therefore it is expected that the laser cut deck will not make inclusion in the upgrade set and will be released separately at some future date.

We understand that this upgrade set will be released before the end of July at a price to be advised.

HOT NEWS!!
Lion Roar have also advised us that they are releasing at the end of the month their 1/35th S-100 Detail set which will include a laser cut wooden deck.

This is great news for all you 1/35th Italeri S-100 fans out there.

As they say watch this space for images & updates.

Great news... will probably get it for the Revell Bismarck I got from the Community Build :) I still need to build a few more ships before I tackle that one though. I DO like the fact that you get an "all in one" upgrade package instead of getting PE from one place, barrels from another, deck from a third party, etc, even if it ends up being a tad more money at the end.
