Initial Report – Trumpeter 1/350 Pyotr Velikiy Battle Cruiser

Trumpeter have announced the released of their1/350 Pyotr Velikiy (former Yuri Andropov) Russian Battle Cruiser New Variant. This kitset is to contain 557 parts on 16 sprues and the final model will be over 28 inches in length. The expected release date is approximately July 2009 with a suggested retail price at this stage of US$159.95.
Kit features:
- Full hull and deck;
- Photo etched 3D radar parts and funnel photo etched 3D radar parts and funnel;
- A Karl 27 helicopter;
- Sonar system;
- Display stand and name plate.
Ship History
Pyotr Velikiy is the fourth Kiroy class battle cruiser of the Russian Navy. It is the
flagship of the Northern Fleet. On September 8,2008, it was announced that the Pyotr Velikiy would sail to the Caribbean Sea to participate in naval exercises with the Venezuelan Navy, along with the destroyer Admiral Chabanenko and other support ships. This action represented the first major Russian show of force in that sea since the end of the Cold War.

What is "A Karl 27 helicopter" :-)--< goldenpony
It is possible that this is a misprint. I think it might be a KA-27 Helix. Kamov makes almost all of the Russian Naval helicopters used by their fleet.
I could be wrong, but I could not locate a Karl helo anywhere relating to Russian Naval forces.
