A long awaited release and considering the numbers built, very long overdue.....
Accurate Armour have released the Austin K2/Y 'Katie' ambulance in 1/35 scale. As I was fortunate enough to see it in the 'flesh' and to handle it as well, this is a mixture of review and news.... In a word, truly impressive. The kit comes complete with an extensive decal sheet, full internal detail, fully detailed engine and complete suspension. As the K2 was was one of the most ubiquitious vehicles of WW2 serving into the 1960s (in various guises) this is a model with many possibilities both as a stand alone model and as the centerpiece for dioramas.

The K2 served in with the British armed forces, the U.S. Army and many examples were sent to the Soviet Union.

Accurate Armour's K2/Y is available now directly from them (or your usual distributor) at (considering the quality of the kit) a reasonable 72.33 pounds (export outside the EEC) and 84.99 within Europe.
