Minicraft has re-released its 1/144 scale P-51D Mustang with a new set of markings
The plastic parts are probably from the Crown moulds dating back from the seventies. Minicraft has included a “pre-painted canopy” and the decals are by Cartograf. There are two markings options and it look as if they are both natural metal finishes. One of the marking options features “The prodigal Son” AJ-X, 413581

Minicraft 144's are a mixed bag, there are some very ancient and well used tools, like the ex-Crown B-25 and B-26 that date from the early 70s, and other stuff like airliner fuselages copied from early resin kits. The P-51d is an ex-Arii tool from the 90s, quite modern in form, nice recessed panel lines, and good shapes. Simple one piece LGs and nothing to look at in the cockpit. the pre-painted cockpit canopy lines is a nice touch, adopted from the world of gashopon. And of course, the top shelf Cartograph decals are worth the price of the whole box.
