ICM Holding is working on to add another kit to its line of ZiL-131 trucks, this time configured as a recovery vehicle.
The ZiL-131 is 3.5t 6x6 general purpose Soviet military that commenced production in 1966. Whilst the basic model was intended to be used as a general cargo truck, it was also used in other roles such as a tractor-trailer truck, a dump truck, a fuel truck, and even as platform for the 9P138 rocket launcher. It is estimated that close to one million of these trucks were produced until 1994. Despite its age, the ZiL-131 is still widely used by the Russian military, as well as a number of other countries.

ZiL-131 MTO-AT, Soviet Recovery Truck (35520) will be offered as an injection-molded kit in 1/35 scale. It will include details in areas such as the chassis, engine, as well the cab interior. A decal sheet with three finishing options will complete the offering.

Background information on the vehicle sourced from Militay-Today.com and Wikipedia.

Looks more like a mobile repair workshop with the ability to lift engines and similar medium loads. Very welcome in any case, can't get enough trucks It seems as if the workshop cabin and A-frame/derrick boom could be mounted on Ural 4320 too, kitbashing The image link tries to pretend that this is a ZiL-131 but the grille/hood/cabin is a Ural 4320 The cabin on the Ural is different (more modern ?) so maybe it would require another cabin ... Maybe with the Ural 375 instead? / Robin

I agree with Robin this vehicle is way too light to be classed as a recovery vehicle. Yard work, motor pool, engine change out, phone line construction most likely. Great looking shop truck though, may have to add this one to the stash!
